Volunteer work can begin once you have a sufficient level of Spanish communication.
Volunteering is entirely unpaid and does not include any benefits such as accommodation or meals.
If you take Spanish classes, you can schedule classes in the morning and volunteer in the afternoon, or vice versa. Some students choose to extend their Spanish class time by adding volunteer work.

Malgré mes aprioris de retourner à l'école je me suis laissé convaincre par ma copine de prendre des cours d'espagnol à l'école Carmen Vegas. Nous avons pris une formule pour 15 jours avec le logement chez l'habitant. Bon j'avoue que je n'étais pas assez assidu pour réussir à parler l'espagnol mais ça m'a permis de le comprendre un minimum. Que se soit la patience des professeurs ou l'accueil de la famille j'en garde un très bon souvenir. Une super expérience pleine d'humanité. L'école Carmen Vegas est l'endroit idéal pour débuter ou approfondir l'espagnol. Les professeurs sont très accueillants et le cadre est super. Il y a des salles de classe mais l'on peut aussi bien faire cours dans un charmant jardin avec les compagnons de la maison.. Des chiens, des chats, une tortue.. et même un Colibri passe butiner de temps en temps !! Tout est réuni pour nous mettre à l'aise et en parfaite condition pour acquérir rapidement un minimum, ou plus, de connaissances pour pouvoir échanger en espagnol. Chaque jour de classe se passe avec une personne différente, donc, avec une méthode différente et surtout quelqu'un de nouveau à rencontrer. Cela permet d'ouvrir rapidement le dialogue en toute simplicité. On peut discuter de tout, ou presque, du moment où l'on progresse. Je ne savais pas qu'il était tellement naturel et agréable d'apprendre avec des gens à l'écoutent et qui croient en vos capacités. J'ai adoré échanger nos expériences de vie ou sur nos points d'intérêt. Ça a complètement changé mon rapport à "l'éducation". Durant mon séjour j'ai été logé dans une famille d'accueil. Ils ont été aux petits soins. Une réel immersion dans le quotidien, discuter, partager les repas, c'est aussi une super expérience. Un vrai travail d'équipe qui fonctionne avec des gens soudés et sérieux . Wir waren für eine gute Woche in der Schule und haben uns von Beginn an sehr wohl gefühlt. Carmen und Jacques haben uns vom Flughafen abgeholt und zu unserer Gastfamilie gebracht, bei der wir durch unsere Gastgeberin Betty kurz vor Mitternacht noch mit einem selbstgemachten Saft empfangen wurden! Betty kocht wunderbar und wir wurden von der ganzen Familie sehr freundlich aufgenommen und geduldig bei unseren Bemühungen spanisch zu sprechen unterstützt. In der Schule haben wir als Vorbereitung für unsere Reise durch Bolivien und Peru mit einer Woche Intensivkurs viel gelernt, um eine gute Basis für denn Alltag zu bekommen. Die Atmosphäre bei Carmen und Jacques ist super. Alle sind sehr kompetent und freundlich. Besonders herauszugeben ist aus unserer Sicht das Konzept mit Einzelunterricht bzw. nur mit kleinen Gruppen zu arbeiten. J’ai passé un séjour inoubliable : plus qu’une école, c’est une vraie famille où l’on apprend, on échange et on s’amuse, le tout dans une ambiance motivante et bienveillante. I couldn't recommend Carmen Vega Spanish school (combined with a homestay) enough! I came with my partner and we had originally planned to stay for two weeks. In the end, we stayed for a whole month. The cozy environment of the school and the welcoming family made it almost impossible to leave. Carmen and Jacques have crafted their own material and methodology which ensure the quality of teaching is always extremely high. All of the teachers are friendly and a pleasure to have classes with. I feel that my Spanish is much more polished now than when I arrived a month ago. The teachers were able to precisely locate my weak points and took care to help me improve them. In terms of the homestay, our host Magui was extraordinarily friendly. We became fast friends, playing dice games almost every night, having excursions into the city, and even visiting a football match. I had an amazing experience at Carmen Vega Spanish School in Cochabamba! I already had a good level of Spanish, and at the start of my two weeks of classes, the teachers did a great analysis to tailor the lessons perfectly. The private classes were of very high quality, and I had the opportunity to learn from different teachers, all of whom were excellent. Each teacher not only helped me further improve my Spanish but also taught me a lot about Bolivian culture, making the learning process even more enriching. The school’s garden setting made for a peaceful learning environment, and Carmen and all the teachers were incredibly friendly and welcoming. There were also dogs and cats roaming around, and during our coffee breaks, we enjoyed fresh figs from a tree in the garden, which made the experience even more special. Thanks to this school, I significantly improved my Spanish while having a fantastic time. I highly recommend it to anyone, and Cochabamba is a great city to explore while studying!
